NON-EXCLUSIVE PUBLISHING AGREEMENT

The Ice Colony does not ask for a transfer of copyright, exclusivity, first-publish rights. We ask that authors provide non-exclusive publishing rights to The Ice Colony.

Rights Maintained by Author

Authors maintain ownership of their Copyright at all times. This allows them to, among other things, distribute their work digitally or license their work to other publishers. Additionally, The Ice Colony recognizes that authors may want to seek out other publishers for novel-length work. The Ice Colony agrees to never publish any submitted work as a stand-alone piece without providing the author with a separate contract.

Rights Granted to The Ice Colony

Authors give The Ice Colony the right to publish (i.e., print, publish, and sell) their work in all languages and countries, in digital, audio, and print formats. The Ice Colony also maintains the ongoing, but non-exclusive, right to publish and republish the piece within The Ice Colony magazines and anthologies.

Warranties

The Author warrants they are the sole author of the work, and generally that they have a complete and unencumbered right to provide the rights they grant to us (especially with regard to previously published material). They also warrant that the work doesn’t invade anyone's copyright or otherwise violate applicable law. The Author agrees to indemnify The Ice Colony against any claim or action alleging facts which, if true, constitute a breach of any of the foregoing warranties.
